The Last Family

Well, I’ve got the ham radio all set up now. I had to find a new antenna since I damaged the first one. It took a few hours of driving to spot a replacement. I set everything up just as I’d found it, best I could. We spent some time sweeping through channels to see if we could hear anybody. We found some channels that “play” silence instead of static. Maybe that means something? Then we were excited to find some where voices recited different things—the time, the weather, random letters and numbers—but as with the stations we heard last week, they turned out to be a computer voice.

We made no contact with anyone tonight. But they say these things can talk all around the globe, so I’m confident we’ll find somebody tomorrow.
