Wednesday, September 7, 10:17 PM. Garrett.
Today we said goodbye to the old house. Mom and Dad hugged and cried a lot. I’m not really sure why. Dad hardly ever cries and it’s kind of weird when he does.
Tonight we’re camping out on the floor of our new house. We’ve all got sleeping bags and night lights. Trevor and Claire are already asleep. Mom is reading. Dad is getting ready to write in his journal.
I helped Dad all week getting the house ready. We set up the electrical and water systems so that they mostly work on their own. I got the pool clean. It’s like crystal. We swam in it when we were done working today. Then we sat in the hot tub, but it was kind of too hot. Then we took real showers, which was the first time we’ve been able to do that in a while.
We did Bible time after supper. It’s kind of boring but it’s better when we do it. We skipped them for a while and everyone is grumpier when we skip. Since we don’t have school right now it’s good to learn something about the Bible at least. Dad asks us questions. Claire talks a ton. She’s like the only one. Mom didn’t want to pray tonight so Trevor did.
I just heard one of the cows moo. I hope they are okay in the barn. It was freaky in our neighborhood with all the empty houses but in a way it’s scarier out here in the country.
