The Last Family

Good afternoon, Diary.

I love Beth so much. She is six days old. We decided to call her “Beth” because it sounds pretty and she’s very pretty. Dad said “Beth” is best and Mom agreed with that. I help take care of her a lot. I get tired but it’s pretty fun and I love her. At first she didn’t really open her eyes much but now she kind of looks at you if you’re talking. Sometimes if she’s fussy I’ll take her and whisper to her and she’ll get quiet and just kind of make a sigh and then look all around my face like she’s looking for something. It’s so so sweet. She sleeps a lot but she wakes up all night.

Mom is fine from the delivery even though there was lots of blood. I think that’s normal. She can walk around and says she doesn’t hurt too much but she can’t lift much except Beth.

Daddy seems okay but he’s still real weak and lays down most of the time. He can’t walk real good. I think maybe he’s getting better though.
