Dear Diary,
Sofia is sleeping. She is still very tired and needs lots of rest because she hurt her head pretty bad in their car crash. She was driving the car I think and she’s really too little for that but she had to because they were all alone. I don’t know where her parents are because I can’t understand her yet. I am teaching her English and she is teaching me Spanish.
I don’t really know her very well but I know that she’s sweet and nice. I can tell from her eyes and her smile that she wants to be friends. She has very pretty eyes like a deer’s and they are sad and shy. Even though she’s sad and shy, she still smiles a lot. She’s still a little scared because she doesn’t know us but she mostly trusts us. I trust her all the way. I can tell she has a kind heart. She takes good care of her little brother and tries to even when she’s sick.
I want to know all about her and where she is from and what happened to them and how they got here. I know God sent them to us because he’s been saying “yes” to lots of prayers lately.
I love her. I hope she’ll love me. I am so thankful that they’re with us.
