The Last Family

With everything else that’s been going on I haven’t had time to think about the fuel problem. It’s pretty urgent, so I thought about it some today.

We have stabilized a supply of gasoline, but from what I’m reading, it sounds like that won’t last us more than a couple of years.

I still haven’t figured out how to keep propane from expiring. Frankly if I found a stabilizing additive, I don’t know how I would add it to a pressurized tank. I have to assume the propane will start to lose combustibility, like the ethanol gas did, probably in the next few months. When it does, life will get a lot harder. We’ll lose electricity to the house and the water pump. Things will become pretty primitive around here. We’re not ready for that.

I need to find a new source of electricity. The longer we can keep it running, the longer we can operate our tools, machines, and perhaps electric vehicles, not to mention creature comforts.
